My Babysitter's a Vampire "Jockenstein" Recap & Review

"Jockenstein" was a bit of a weird episode to me truthfully, it was pretty good, but pretty weird and eerie. I’m late (about two-three months late) with this recap/review because this episode isn't on YouTube, or a site where it can be streamed in different/higher quality (I won't post with low/crappy quality screen caps). Full episode in HD posted at Dailymotion.

Ethan and Benny join the hockey team as they learn one of their teammate’s – who is the team’s best hockey player – has a secret behind his mask. Meanwhile Sarah is accused by the vampire council of stealing from the deceased and spreading disease amongst the vampire community.

I have to be honest, I've seen this episode a couple times on TV and now on the internet at least three and I must say the storyline involving Ethan, Benny, evil Coach, and "Boltz" interested me more than the one about Sarah drinking blood from the dead, although it brings Sarah into that plot in the end, so no complaints there; besides Ethan gets to get her back in a way, usually she tells him to do things himself, now the vice versa has occurred, although Sarah might have been killed, had this turned out differently.

One thing I’m glad to have seen in this episode, Rory and Sarah hanging out, usually it’s just Ethan, Sarah, Benny, Erica and/or Rory kudos to the writer for this – I hope to see them hanging more if/when the series is renewed a third season!

Also by the middle of this episode Scott Yaphe just made ROFL (Roll on floor laughing), his character hid his lunacy really well around Stern and the other players; Stern seeming oddly obsessed about the hockey team being the best. But at one point I was really worried about Ethan and his safety.

I’m sure this was an error (which likely went unnoticed during final editing) but at about 17-18 minutes in when Boltz was lowering his mask, you could see an actual person’s normal face – meaning it wasn't like a "lizard was stapled to his face" as Erica said; and Boltz was credited as portrayed by Duncan McLeod.

After seeing this episode on the internet to do this recap (months after the season finale in the U.S.), I have to admit, I just wanted to scream my head off about Vice Principal Stern, I won't spoil yet because some have yet to see the two-part season finale, "The Date to End All Dates", but Stern is not who he is supposed to be, let me put it that way.

My only complaint really is there are a lot of unanswered questions what was Coach Steiner and Stern’s motives for Boltz/the hockey team? Another is, how did the homeless grave robber know about the Eye of Zartak? Also, he didn't really question Sarah about herself or the vampire council in general; did he know the supernatural history of Whitechapel? And in the end, where did Coach Steiner go? And this is just the start of questions for this episode; some of them were answered in the season finale ("The Date to End All Dates"), where Stern’s involvement is concerned.

Another great episode, and it fits in with a Halloween theme, but then again, all the episodes do in some way or another. And I'm sure at this point Boltz would be moaning and groaning in excitement!

Here is the recap:

The episode starts with hockey practice at Whitechapel High, Benny and Ethan in hockey gear, watching the other players practice, Benny cheering on Boltz. Standing to the side were Vice Principal Stern and Coach Steiner, Stern saying the team played for one reason, to win; adding that to make the cut they had to sweat and bleed hockey, Steiner added to also have fun. Stern then said to have fun on their own time, no fun on his ice; that only the best of the best would make the team.

Ethan asked Benny fearfully was he sure they should be there, that they weren't even the best of the worst. Benny told him there were two ways to get popular fast, form a band, or join a team. Ethan said he was getting close, Benny told him since his oboe lesson’s didn't play out, hockey was all they had, saying Ethan was great at hockey. Ethan corrected that he was good at watching hockey, closest he got to playing was a video game, “Super Puckzoid 4”.

Benny then pointed to Boltz, commenting as long as he was on the team, who cared how bad they were. Boltz then slamming a guy into the wall, then knocking down another guy skating towards him; Boltz staring at Ethan and Benny before taking off. Stern commented it was more room on the ice, asking who was next. Some of the guys took off, leaving Ethan and Benny. Stern said if they were still there and hadn't sustained major injuries, they made the team. Benny made a meek “yay”.

It was night and Rory and Sarah were out, Sarah commenting that was the last time she’ll take flying tips from Rory, saying he flew into a bird on purpose. Rory said with a mouth full of feathers that he was hungry. Sarah then asked him where they were, Rory told her it looked like the old cemetery. Sarah asked him then did he smell something, Rory saying all he smelled was pigeon, before he sneezed.

Sarah grossed, said the smell was coming from a different direction, Rory then agreed with her. Just then an eerie figure came out of the shadows, Sarah stating it was a whole new kind of awkward. Rory asked should he wet himself or vomit. Sarah said or he could give her some more flying tips after all; the two flying away.

The next day at school during lunch, Benny said that he got the puck and “ollied” a goal. Ethan told him that he hadn't touched the ice yet and he was sure “Ollie” was a skateboarding term. Benny told him who cared, for them to milk the jock thing while they could, like Boltz; both he and Ethan looked at him sitting at a table. Benny saying that they should hang out with him, Ethan asked him what would they talk about, how they would wedgie them later.

Benny pointed out to Ethan that they made the team, and the ones sitting with Boltz didn't  the boys sitting with him were staring fearfully because Boltz was moaning and groaning. Benny then told Ethan to watch and learn, going over to the table, asking the guys how come they weren't at practice, then shaking his jersey, reminding them that they weren't on the team, telling them to “shooch” because the table was for players only. They both got up and left, Ethan shocked commenting that it just happened.

Benny and Ethan sat down in front of Boltz, Benny said to him that he was killer on the rink, Ethan was about to agree when he saw Boltz’s hands, which one looked different from the other. Ethan quickly saying one of his slap shots was awesome, Boltz groaning. Sarah then came and sat at the table, telling them they wouldn't believe what happened last night, Boltz groaned again. Sarah then asked who he was, Ethan told her he was Boltz, Benny adding because he’s faster than lighting.”

Sarah then asked them why they were wearing hockey uniforms, quipping that it wasn't Halloween yet. Ethan told her that they made the hockey team. Sarah was happy they did, saying it was great, asking them were they water boys. Ethan corrected her that they were players, Benny emphasizing that she was sitting at the “player’s table”, saying unless she was one of the hockey groupies, Sarah got up from table, saying she wasn't on that team. Ethan and Benny then turned back to Boltz, Benny asking him whats up.

Boltz was at his locker as Erica walked down the hall by him, running a hand through her flowing hair. Erica then handed Sarah a letter from the vampire council, Sarah asked her was it about “proper fang hygine” or “werewolf dating tips”. Erica then asked Sarah who was the new hunk, Sarah told her he was Boltz, with a “B” as in “B.O.”, saying he was on the hockey team with Ethan and Benny. Erica then asked her did her dorks turn into jocks, Sarah then upset with her letter from the vampire council, Erica assuming it was about Ethan and Benny’s new status.

Sarah said that her letter said she was wanted for grave robbing, asking why would she do that; Erica answered it was bad nutritional choices. Sarah told Erica that she didn’t even feed on the living, that she stuck to organic plasma, Erica saying it wouldn’t help her case then asking Sarah was she going to introduce her to Boltz. Boltz struggling to open his locker, hitting it in frustration, which Erica liked.

Sarah is later seen at her hearing with the vampire council, Anastasia told Sarah she was accused of necrogluto, asking her how did she plead. Sarah didn’t understand what it mean, saying she thought she was accused of draining dead people. Anastasia told her that’s what it meant, asking her didn’t she learn Latin. Regardless, Sarah stressed that she didn’t do it, saying “first of all ‘gross’, and second of all ‘eww’”. Anastasia said they were valid points, but they knew Sarah was in the grave yard because they had her hairclip.

Sarah then said she was there, but didn’t do anything, and to ask Rory because he was there too. Anastasia said that they did, Rory telling them that he was on a “date” with Sarah, Sarah shocked by that. Anastasia said that they didn’t believe him, which is why she stands accused. Anastasia explained to Sarah that it was a serious crime and feeding on the dead could spread sickness around the vampire community, Sarah told her she wasn’t “neco-gluing”, but she said she thinks she knows who was.

Anastasia told Sarah she had 48 hours to catch the grave robber and prove her innocence, Sarah then asked what if she failed; Anastasia saying they would have to kill the virus inside her before it spreads. Sarah asked her with antibiotics, Anastasia beared her fangs and said by “something much more permanent”. Sarah just stared at her, in fear.

The next day at school, Sarah was telling Ethan and Benny she needed to catch the guy or the vampire council would terminate her, asking for their help. Ethan told her they’d love to, but the team needs them too. Sarah upset asked him why, that he said himself that they barely set foot on the ice. Benny told her that bench warming was a noble tradition, then saying “what’s up” and high-fiving Boltz, who was passing by, Benny’s hand hurting afterwards. Benny then adding it was harder than it looked.

Ethan told Sarah he’d like to help, but they had the team to think about. Sarah irritated said that she would do it herself; but said to Ethan that the next time a monster was in his closet, for him to call someone else. Sarah then stormed out a back door into a guy holding a duffel bag and a shovel, who told her to watch her step. Sarah groaned and asked did all hockey players smell like b.o.?

Then Rory appeared next to Sarah, almost scaring her. Sarah asked him could she help him, Rory initially said no, until Rory followed her next step, Sarah then asked him why he was following her. Rory told her he was there because the vampire council wanted to make sure she didn’t “sink her fangs into anymore dead dudes”. Sarah told him that he she didn’t do it because he was there. Rory said it was because the council hated it when he argued, or talked. Rory adding plus they had to spend two days together.

Sarah groaned and said to stake her, Rory then added Erica was supposed to babysit her too, saying Erica was somewhere. Erica was in the hallway, talking to Boltz. Erica then pushed him onto the wall asking him in a seductive tone had they met before, or was it just in her dreams. Boltz groaned, Erica saying he was so witty, adding she bet he was ruggedly handsome too, attempting to take off Boltz’s hockey mask. Erica assumed he was shy, but strong, saying she liked that. Erica peeked under Boltz’s hockey mask and said it looked like someone ran over a lizard and stapled it to his face.

Rory and Sarah found Erica in the halls with Boltz, Rory saying she was supposed be watching Sarah so she wouldn't “dig dig, munch munch, yum yum”. Erica agreed and said she literally never wanted to see his face again. Sarah and Rory looked at each other, confused.

During practice, Stern asked the coach what was wrong with Boltz, coach said that he scored four points, Stern added three was in his own net. Coach said that Boltz had skills, Stern added that he needed brain. Ethan approached Steiner saying he had the opposite problem, he knew what to do, but had problems doing it. Steiner then said he’d love to hear ideas for Boltz. Ethan then explained he’d get farther from the net, that the goalie was too good at blocking up close.

Steiner and Stern whistled for Boltz to come over, and Boltz ran Ethan’s play perfectly. Ethan then suggested that Boltz try going behind the net and rebounding it off of player number seven’s helmet. They whistled for Boltz and he scored after doing that. Ethan then suggested for Boltz to pass it to number eight and body chunk him into the net. After that, Steiner pointed out they were in the lead, thanking Ethan.

Ethan said that he couldn’t take all the credit; that Boltz helped a little. Ethan patted Boltz on the shoulder, triggering a vision for him; Ethan saw photos of hockey players with circles around parts of their body, followed by Boltz’s hockey mask. Ethan was in a trance after his vision, Mr. Stern waving his hand and snapping his fingers in Ethan’s face. Stern told him he looked a little worn out, and to “ride the pine”.

Ethan sat next to Benny and said something was going on with Boltz, Benny asked him what he meant, saying Boltz was playing better than ever. Ethan told him that he didn’t think Boltz was a natural, earning a look from Benny.

Later Boltz was groaning, trying to shove his drink through his helmet to drink it, upset he can’t. Benny commented that he looked like a normal jock to him. Ethan said it had something to do with the gem on his mask, Ethan saying he doesn’t know what it does. Benny then suggested that he stumbled onto some kind of magical steroids and then cheated his way into becoming the greatest player ever. Ethan asked how was Benny sure, Benny responded it’s exactly what he’d do.

Ethan said it was something more to it, and that they should look up the gem. Coach Steiner came over to them and said “great game”. Benny said he always gives “111%” Steiner shrugging what Benny said more interested in Ethan, and his ideas he had. Coach asked Ethan did he mind staying, he’d love to pick Ethan’s brain.

Ethan awkwardly tried to decline, saying they had homework. Benny asked what homework, Ethan telling him chemistry homework. Benny then said he could do it for the both of them, Steiner happy to hear that, told them to stay put while he stowed away the gear. Ethan asked Benny why he did that, Benny told him Steiner might know something about Boltz; Ethan then agreed.

Benny then said that meanwhile he’ll find out what Boltz’s mojo is duplicate it, and the next time Ethan see’s him, he’d be just like Boltz. Coach Steiner was wiping off Boltz’s mask, Boltz made a mess, trying to drink his drink. Benny then said, “not exactly like him,” walking off saying Ethan got the idea.

Later that night Erica questioned that Sarah was accused of grave robbing and yet she wanted to hang out in a graveyard. Sarah snapped at Erica that she didn’t drain dead people; the three then saw an old man digging with a shovel, Rory asking did Sarah think he was the guy. The old man yelled at them to go away, telling them if they wanted to rob a grave, to go dig their own. Sarah hissed at him before charging at him and kicking him. Rory and Erica meekly congratulating her for taking down the elderly disabled man.

The man yelled about his arthritis, Sarah saying he was a grave robber; he defended it and said he only wanted spare parts since the dead weren’t using them. Sarah asked him why, he simply answered “for hockey.” Erica saying the sport is weirder than she thought.

Meanwhile Benny was at home looking up spells about “athletic ability”, getting a call from Sarah, he informing her there was a spell for curing athlete’s foot; Sarah said annoyed it was fascinating, then asking him did he know his “buddy” Boltz wasn’t an average jock. Benny said he was trying to figure out Boltz’s tricks so he can do it himself, Sarah told Benny that if he wasn’t a pile of body parts, it wouldn’t help.

Sarah said the “old weirdo” said that the stone on Boltz’s mask was the “Eye of Zartak”, it resurrects dead limbs into what ever shape you put them in, telling Benny that Boltz was made up of dozens of dead hockey players, Benny asking her shocked did she know what that meant, Sarah answered it meant they had a crazy hockey monster on the loose. Benny said upset that it meant he’d never be good at hockey.

The elderly man said that Boltz wasn't crazy, just slow, saying good brains were hard to find – too many worms getting in, making it like Swiss cheese. Sarah told him that his “build-it-yourself hockey days” were over. The old guy said he was just a grave robber, saying the new coach was the grave robber, that he wanted a thick skull for the new geek brain that he found. Benny heard this over the phone, knowing it meant Ethan.

At the school Steiner asked Ethan was he ready to be a part of something bigger than him, Ethan questioned anything for the team. Steiner said he and Boltz made a great team, saying between his brains and Boltz’s skill saying they could go all the way, meaning the NHL (National Hockey League). Steiner then asked Ethan was he committed, ready to take it to the next level. Ethan said he was but asked Steiner about Boltz, asking how well did he know him.

Steiner told Ethan that he made Boltz into the player he was, showing Ethan the wall in which he literally made Boltz saying it was the finest parts of the greatest hockey players in town that died; saying it was only one part missing, looking at Ethan. Ethan began backing away, nervously telling Steiner good luck and he didn't want to be cut out for it. Steiner crazily said to Ethan that there was no “I” in “team”, backing Ethan into a corner.

Ethan then said to him there was a “u” (you) in “lunatic”, Ethan ran into Boltz who knocked him down. Steiner congratulated Boltz for knocking him down, saying it was technically cross-checking, but he’ll pretend he didn't see it.

Ethan woke up to find himself strapped down into a tub of ice, Stiener said to Ethan whether you've sprained an ankle or ripped out an organ, it’s always good to put ice on it. Steiner then going over to Boltz and hooking him up to some electrical charges; saying to Boltz that he might feel a slight jolt, Steiner flipping a power switch, shocking Boltz. Ethan watched in shock and horror.

The gem in Boltz’s helmet lit as Boltz started moving, Steiner yelling happily “it’s alive!” He rushed over to Boltz and asked for a high-five. Steiner then grabbed two instruments that would cut off Ethan’s head, Ethan was struggling to break free, asking Steiner was he going to kill him just to get Whitechapel to the playoffs. Steiner saying Ethan would be fine, that his brain was just going into Boltz’s body.

Steiner was about to start, when he was interrupted by some beeping, alerting him to some intruders. Steiner told Ethan he had to attend to something, grabbing Boltz, meanwhile Ethan struggled to break free.

Sarah, Rory, Benny, and Erica were walking on the ice, Sarah calling out for Ethan. Erica said that it was huge and said next time for them to join a Ping-Pong team. Rory advised against it saying “pongers” were animals. Steiner got on the microphone yelling that they were trespassing. Sarah told him to can it, calling him “Franken-coach” saying they were there for Ethan, Benny emphasized “all of Ethan”.

Steiner then yelled “defense” to Boltz. Boltz took off his helmet and started drinking, Sarah asked was his head even a head, Rory asked how was he drinking. Erica said he was hotter with his mask on. Boltz dropped his helmet back and Sarah said she was through playing games, hissed at Boltz, and charged at him with vampire speed, but crashing into the wall instead. Rory warning her a second too late, saying vampire speed plus ice equaled wipeout every time.

Sarah breathlessly said it was good to know, Benny irately told her to find Ethan. Erica said she would take care of “Mr. Mumbles”, Rory following. Steiner was drawing an outline on Ethan’s forehead, Ethan hoping it was for a helmet fitting. Steiner told him once his noodle was out, he would have no choice but to put it in Boltz. Ethan shivered that he would never get away with it. Steiner powered up his tools just as Sarah shouted for Ethan, Ethan yelling out where he was.

Out on the ice, Boltz flung Rory across the ice and under a goal, and the horn blasted, Rory dazed asking did they win. Boltz then looked to Benny, who reminded him that they were on the same team, Benny then rushing to grab a hockey stick. Erica appeared behind Boltz, whispering that she couldn’t believe she liked him and bit him, Benny creeped out at what he saw. Erica stopped, complaining he tasted like moldy sewer water.

Sarah found Ethan but he as he warned her that Steiner was behind her, he placed a helmet of electricity on her head, which shocked her. Steiner asking Ethan where they were.

Boltz broke his hockey stick in half, about to stake a sick Erica until Benny stopped him, asking to go one-on-one, Benny saying he had the puck, that it had to go top shelf, and that it was do or die, he nervously added "literally". Benny shot the puck at him and it knocked the Eye of Zartak out of the helmet, knocking Boltz off of his feet, and stopping him. Benny happy at his victory, Erica and Rory were asking what happened, Benny upset they didn’t see his shot.

Steiner was about to cut Ethan’s head open, saying there was no “I” in scream either until Sarah put the helmet on Steiner’s head, shocking him. Sarah then quipped that he wouldn’t be making the cut. Sarah released Ethan, asking was he okay, Ethan said he was done with hockey, that he had enough ice time to last him forever.

Later at the vampire council, Sarah, with the elderly man, told them the grave robbing would be over, until next hockey season. Anastasia didn’t believe Sarah, asking her how did they know she didn’t just pay the old and homeless man to lie for her; he was upset because he was standing right there. Sarah said that she thought about that, and the man placed a duffel bag full of stolen stuff on their table; Sarah adding if they thought she was draining the dead, they should check for fang marks.

Anastasia was disgusted and said it could take hours, Sarah told her not to get sick.

Benny was upset Vice Principal Stern folded the team after Steiner and Boltz vanished, Ethan said he was lucky they didn’t have to play. Benny agreed, Ethan saying he missed the status though, Benny was about to say they would still have the status until the two students he dissed shoved him into a door.

Ethan then held Boltz’s mask on his shoulders, saying they’d remember how popular they were with it until Vice Principal Stern came out of a room and took it from them, the boys objecting, Stern said it was school property, Stern was saying he was storing all of the equipment and the mask was his last item. Ethan asked Stern was he sure he wanted it, because it was ancient; Stern said all of the equipment was.

Benny said if Boltz was there he knows what Boltz would say, Ethan agreed as they both groaned and moaned like Boltz did as the episode jumps to black.

Status of MBAV "Jockenstein" & "Halloweird" Recaps & Reviews

I want to apologize to all of my My Babysitter's a Vampire followers, I know I've been kind of off recently with posting my recaps & reviews; when the episodes aired strictly on Fridays (on Disney Channel) and were put up on YouTube without issue on Saturday, I could guarantee having them up by Monday morning or afternoon at least.

I was late with "Independence Daze" and "Siren Song", but with MBAV airing on both Friday and Sunday; my work schedule has an effect on my free time (I'm gone during the morning hours to late afternoon hours and some evening hours), and "Siren Song" (which aired on Sunday, Sept. 16th) was posted to YouTube on Tuesday, so that had me post the recaps & reviews on Thursday, trying to get good quality screencaps for them as well.

Well my recaps & reviews for "Jockenstein" and "Halloweird" will definitely be delayed until a later date (will announce on Twitter/Tumblr when I get ready to put them up). As of 4:00 PM Tuesday, Sept. 25th, both episodes are not on YouTube (in HD), so I'm having to do an [longer] alternative means of getting the recaps & reviews, and getting them up. I'm downloading the entire episodes to my PC (in a poor quality), which takes forever on a dial-up connection.

YouTube is a little faster and simpler, but one of the users who posts MBAV episodes to YouTube is having problems getting them up on the site (YouTube blocking them, citing copyright, which is why I warn fans to download them for themselves, once YouTube gets wind that they are copyright (Fremantle Media Enterprises), they will rip them off of the site).

I just wanted to alert my followers of this. Also, the recaps & reviews likely won't have any screencaps, until/if the episodes surface on YouTube in HD, I don't want to post smaller/low quality images, you can't enjoy the "full effect" of them.

Anyone have any questions or concerns, hit me up in the comments section of my blog or tweet me on Twitter, or send me something on Tumblr.

My Babysitter's a Vampire "Siren Song" Recap & Review

I think I’m under the hypnosis of this episode  "Siren Song", I had a huge smile on my face from beginning to end.

It’s the school talent show and the gang has to sign up to stop a siren (Kendra Timmins) from singing her song and causing all kinds of mayhem.

For right now, I’m still in love with MBAV "Independence Daze" but "Siren Song" kind of has a first season feel to it, it had the perfect mix of action, drama, and comedy! I loved the songs in this episode, but I mostly love the song the "Muse-a-tronics" came up with, it really was "perfect" – it wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t good either; perfect. Also, they used the song’s music for the ending theme to this episode, versus "Girl Next Door". I kind of wish Matthew Knight would do a little more singing, and Cameron Kennedy does a little rapping too (not necessarily about cake)! Because I keep playing this song, I don’t know about anyone else, but I want the download!

But back to "Siren Song", I wish the writers would have gone more in depth about Serena’s pain and why she wanted people to feel it. She certainly made Ethan feel her pain, nice to know there are more to his visions that just them in themselves (he can been sent across other universes as seen in "Independence Daze" and he can be hurt by them as seen in "Siren Song"). But back to Serena, I really wanted to know what her pain was; it seemed to me she just wanted to cause random uproar, she could have just made a plot to win the talent show, but oh well; I don’t really see anyone else playing Serena in this episode other than Kendra Timmins, she was pretty awesome!

Glad this episode used all five of our beloved characters, especially Rory, I've been wanting to see him doing more, especially with the group (you all saw how lonely he was without Benny and Ethan in "Independence Daze"). We now know that Rory’s last name is Keaner and he has a mom, named Vivian. Now if MBAV can give Sarah and Erica last names and families, It’d be cool. We’ve heard Erica at least mention a mom ("Re-Vamped"), and speaking of Erica, nice to see her trying to tap into vampire powers, trying anyway to glamour Ethan.

But I loved this comedic and almost Rory-centric episode, like I said earlier; it had a season one feel to it. And I see MBAV got a sharp ratings boost on Disney Channel when this episode aired on Sunday at 8:30PM ET, maybe they should consider this slot if they pick up the series a third season for next summer!

"Siren Song" A+!

The episode opens with students preparing for the talent show, Rory (or MC Monster Bat) included. Meanwhile Ethan and Benny are at home playing video games, Rory calling to tell them he was about to “drop some beats” in 20 minutes. Ethan told Benny what Rory was about to do, Ethan asked Benny did he want to go, Benny was chuckling.

Rory then said to them a really hot girl was going on first, Ethan reiterated that to Benny who asked did she have one of those wicked awesome flying V guitars. Ethan then said a quick “no”, Benny saying he was out because it sounded emo. Ethan apologized to Rory.

Rory was disappointed and sat down, watching the “hot girl” get ready to play. She said to them that her song was about how she hurt sometimes, she then said maybe they’d hurt too and began playing, Rory smiling, attentive.

The song began to have an effect on everyone in the room, the spell was broken over Rory, interrupted by his cell phone ringing. He stepped out to answer, it was his mom; he told her not to worry about dinner and mistakenly told her he’d catch a rat, quickly correcting with “ratsa, pasta”. While Rory was on the phone, the singing was continuing and the students were fighting. Rory told his mom he loved her and walked back in to see the students all over the place, she told them to get home safely and walked off the stage.

Rory then asked how he was supposed to follow that.

The next day at school, Rory was telling Ethan and Benny how the girl destroyed the audience, he said that he tried to destroy the paramedics, but they told him to be quiet while they worked. Ethan asked was the whole football team in the hospital, quipping that no wonder there was so much room in the halls. Benny added luxurious and wedgie free. Rory noted that if she could work a crowd like that, she’d own the talent show.

Benny “pssh-ed” and said that Rory was assuming the judges would have any un-blown minds after they see his fruit juggling. Benny then juggled three apples in the air magically, they not coming back down. Benny asked was it pretty good, Ethan seemed amused. Rory then pointed out the girl, “Serena”, who softly sang a note in a boy’s ear, he then going to give a teacher a wedgie.

Everyone was shocked at what he did, Ethan saying that Marty was usually the “wedg-ee” not the “wedg-er”. An announcement came on the intercom about the talent show tryouts, Mr. Stern said that he couldn’t wait, but yet somehow he would. After Mr. Stern finished Benny said that it was time to get his juggle on, Rory told Benny that he better hope he juggles better than he spins, slightly pushing him, Rory continued that “MC Monster Bat takes no p-p-p-p-p-prisoners”, before dancing away. Ethan was smiling, Benny shrugged it and walked off, Benny’s apples finally falling to the ground.

Serena sang a note to two hockey players who soon after began fighting. Ethan asked Erica and Sarah (who was listening to an MP3 player) that just walked up, did she tell those guys fight over her. Erica irritated asked how come guys didn’t fight over her when she tells them too, saying she had to figure out that vampire mind control. Ethan asked did she mean glamoring, he was about to say he doubted until Erica said his name, trying to put him in a trance, she asked him to do her homework. Ethan said dazed, “Erica… no.”

Ethan then saw that Sarah was dancing and muttering, asking Erica what was happening. Erica explained that Sarah made her work on a dance routine for the talent show, Erica sticking her tongue out and sticking a finger in her mouth. Erica continued that Sarah was practicing for the tryout, Erica whispering that she was teaching her. Sarah asked Ethan was he going to watch her and Erica dance up a storm. Ethan nervously said no, that he wasn’t much for storms of the dancing variety. Sarah then danced off.

Mr. Stern said to the students in the auditorium that he didn’t know most of their names, and said he didn’t have a list, asking who was first. Benny immediately stood up, saying he’d go first, Rory then taking Benny’s apples, eating one of them. Rory told Benny not to worry, he saved him one. Benny said he couldn’t juggle just one apple, then rushing to “hit the cafeteria”.

Serena said that she had a thousand screams in her soul, saying she yearned to share them all with them. Mr. Stern told her to go for it. Rory told him that it was gonna rock and took out his cell phone, saying he better record it. She began singing “la” into the microphone, causing Rory to stare at her in a daze. Serena then sang “feel my pain”, her sound waves sounding all over the auditorium. The students started fighting, Mr. Stern was drawing on himself, Sarah was dancing and listening to her headphones unaware of what was happening until the lights went off.

Sarah then stood up and asked what happened. Serena said that the depths of her pain require more bass. Mr. Stern said that that was the first time a song gave him an ice-cream headache, feeling his forehead, he then told Serena she was in, Serena then walked off the stage.

Rory sat next to Sarah, his hair a mess, and said that he was sorry the power went out, he just had the urge
to bite something, and whatever it was, it tasted really sparky.

In the bathroom, Erica asked Serena what her secret was, Serena answered that she only rinses out half the conditioner. Erica told her that she didn’t mean her hair, but asked her did that work before asking her how she got two guys to fight over her. Serena told her she sang to them, they felt her pain, and she said she needed everyone to feel her pain. Erica asked her how does she do that, Serena told her with a talent that she will never have. Serena then walked out of the bathroom, saying soon the whole world would feel her pain.

Rory, Sarah, Ethan, and Benny were sitting together and Sarah told Rory he didn’t have electricity stuck in his teeth, Rory sighed of relief. Benny miffed that he came back from his apple run and the auditions were over, Ethan noticed a line at the nurses office that was out the door, asking what happened. Rory handed Ethan his phone saying Serena sand a “beautiful” song.

Ethan played it and it had a loud screech, Rory said that that wasn’t what he heard, taking his phone from Ethan, saying something must be wrong with it, Sarah adding, something wrong with Serena.

Ethan pointed out that first, the football team rioted in the lounge and then he compared the talent show try out to the boss level of a video game, Sarah annoyed that he made a video game reference she didn’t understand. Rory said he felt that he was in a trance but forgot the song as soon as it was over. Ethan quipped that maybe she was Justin Bieber.

Benny suggested that maybe she was a mermaid; Ethan thought the Bieber joke was funnier. Benny said that he was serious, explaining that mermaids can mess with people’s minds and hide their tails on land. Benny said they needed to splash some water on her and see if she grows fins. Sarah told them to just call her when they want her to kick Serena’s butt. Benny then told her she didn’t have a butt, that mermaids didn’t have butts, the three boys laughing.

Sarah walked up to Erica, asking her did she punch her locker. Erica explained that she knows Sarah is mad at her for ditching her at the tryouts because she thought their dance routine was lame and she didn’t want to do it. Sarah asked her what she did, Erica continued, that now she was totally into it, and that Serena was going to see who has talent. Sarah asked her did she ditch her. Erica told her to stop living in the past, that what mattered now is that they had moves to bust, Erica walking off, Sarah sighed and followed.

Meanwhile Ethan and Benny were plotting to spray Serena with water. After they did, nothing happened, Benny saying not a mermaid, before Serena was about to slap him, he ducked and she almost slapped Ethan, he caught her hand and had a vision; it was Serena making the shrieking sound heard on Rory’s cell phone.

Serena dropped Ethan on the floor, him yelling, Serena stormed off saying she had songs of pain to write for everyone; Rory ran up, Benny asking him to help Ethan up, Ethan saying she was definitely not a mermaid.

Benny told Ethan that his eyes were fine, his ears were good and he’d be fine. Benny led Ethan to his closet, telling him it was nice and dark in there, like a sensory deprivation chamber. Ethan didn’t hear him, Benny yelled for him to stay in there until his ear’s stop ringing, putting some headphones on his ears, and shutting him inside.

Ethan yelled it was dark in there, Benny said he’d be right there if he needed him, whispering that he’d be playing Ethan’s video games, Ethan yelling it smelled like shoes. Ethan yelled that he got a new “Myth Monsters” game. Benny asked him did he buy “Myth Monster Mayhem”, saying the monsters were so lame. Ethan yelled he couldn’t wait to play it. Benny yelled that in a Pixie vs. Leprechaun cage match, everyone loses.

Benny read where it said “a mythical siren song blasts the brains of her opponent making them go berserk.” Benny dropping the video game case, saying like that would ever happen. Benny was about to play the game when he realized something, asking Ethan what if Serena was a siren, saying they should analyze one of her songs and see if it has any supernatural mojo coming off of it. Ethan then yelled the same thing Benny said; Benny saying it was his idea, he thought of it first, and that he was building the equipment. Ethan then yelled he had to start on the equipment, that upsetting Benny.

At Whitechapel High that night, they were preparing the equipment; Rory was amazed at what his name looked like on an equalizer. Benny told him to grow up, that what they were doing was serious, shaking his drill at Rory. Sarah walked up, asking Benny was he wearing a tin foil hat, Benny corrected, aluminum foil, to keep Serena’s crazy waves out of his brain, Rory then ran off, Benny said Ethan said earplugs were fine, but Benny said he wasn’t taking any chances.

Sarah then asked where Ethan was, Benny said he ordered him to sit this one out, he needed to recover after his showdown with Serena. Rory ran back over asking was his hat tight enough. Benny was closing a gap in it, before just pulling it over Rory’s face.

Later, Ethan showed up, Benny asking him what he was doing there, he couldn’t risk any more exposure to Serena’s song. Ethan began telling a story that when they were eight and they went to see “Buzzy and the Big Bee Bang” and he cried, Rory laughed but abruptly stopped, earning looks from Ethan and Benny. Ethan then asked him did he let him face the music alone, Benny said “thank you, brother” to him, the two shaking each other’s arms.

They then saw Serena getting on stage to perform, Benny said “earplugs, engage”, they all putting in earplugs, Ethan complimenting them on their job getting the equipment. As Serena sang, everyone started fighting, Ethan saying there was definitely something going on. Sarah ran up and pushed Ethan out of the way as someone was about to attack him, Sarah got a hold of something, breaking it in half, it was biscotti.

Benny commented that he hated the “emo junk” as Ethan was then placed in a trance by Serena’s song, picking up an object and throw it at him. Sarah shoving him back, asking him what was wrong with him, Ethan was about to try again until Sarah punched him. Serena then got off of the microphone after saying “thanks for listening”. Sarah said that if Ethan’s mom found out about this, she was so fired.

That night at Ethan’s home, he was saying that Serena’s voice was full of paranormal acoustic energy, that she was affecting people’s brains. Ethan read where Rory’s normal brain activity was pretty dead, Rory saying he was laid back, asking why stress. Benny played some classical music, Rory was nice and calm, but even a second of Serena’s song, and Sarah pointed out that Rory tries to bite his arm off.

Sarah then asked how do they stop Serena, Ethan answered that according to Greek mythology and “Whatapedia”; sirens lost a singing contest to the Muses, and were destroyed by their own jealousy. Rory commented that too bad they didn’t know the Muses agent. Ethan then got an idea, them becoming the Muses, getting into the talent show, and when she turns on them, use her own song against her. Benny then asked how and what if she liked her own voice.

Ethan said they could rig up a phase inverter and send a negative image of her own evil harmonics right back at her. Benny agreed with “the old evil harmonic phase inverter trick”, but Rory asked how do they get on the show and be good enough to make her jealous. Benny added that they had to be really close for the phase inverter to even work. Ethan said it was simple, music today is all done on the computer, all they have to do is find the formula for the perfect song.

Sarah said that just in case they didn’t become the hottest boy band of all time, she’d go tell Erica they may need some more kicks in their dance routine. Ethan agreed that was a good idea.

Rory suggested that they draw up one of MC Monster Bat’s tracks, that his beats make people feel good, Benny was shaking his head no. Rory said they’d be called “MC Monster Bat & the Muses” Benny and Ethan both thought of “Muse-o-tronics”, Rory agreeing at the last second.

The next day at school, Ethan said that their music was mathematically perfect, their lyrics used the most popular words from hit songs over the past 10 years. Ethan yelled into the microphone that they were “robotuned”. Rory yelled into the microphone “MC Monsterbat in the house!” Benny hit his drum sticks in odd number order before they started playing.

Not long after they started playing, Mr. Stern said “Thank you”, they kept playing until he yelled for them to stop. Mr. Stern told them they were terrible, he said he could either ask them or leave, or give them the last slot in the show and he could leave, he gave it to them. The boy’s high-fived and yelled “Muse-o-tronics”

Erica and Sarah walked in, Erica asking Mr. Stern if he was ready for a “dance explosion”, they started dancing but Mr. Stern said that he was ready for a hot cup of tea and to have his ears flushed. Erica hissed and was about to go after him, Sarah stopping her.

That night at school, was the talent show. Erica asked Sarah were they just going to hang out backstage like losers. Sarah told her they were there to help, once Serena hit the stage, things were going to get crazy. Erica told her if Serena opened her mouth again, things would get crazy. Sarah said that Erica was really mad, Erica agreeing.

Meanwhile in the audience, Ms. Weir was knitting, sitting next to Rory’s mom. She was telling Ms. Weir that Rory was so talented, that he can’t stick with a single hobby for more than a week because it doesn’t challenge him anymore. She told Ms. Weir that recently Rory was very interested in volunteering at petting zoos. Ms. Weir told her that was great stuff, before turning down her hearing aid. Rory’s mom, Vivian, continued that Rory really liked the smaller animals, she betting he’ll be a vet when he grows up.

Mr. Stern then walked up to a podium on stage and welcomed the audience to the 15th annual Whitechapel High talent show. Mr. Stern told them if they kept their applause to a minimum they would be out of there in no time. Mr. Stern read that the students would display a variety of skills, saying that none of which will land them jobs in the future.

Backstage Rory thanked Benny for doing his hair – which was very spiky – since he can’t use a mirror. Benny laughed and said “anytime champ.” Ethan walked up and told Rory his mom was there, sitting next to Benny’s grandmother. Rory said that wasn’t good, Benny agreed that he was worried about his grandma too. Rory told Benny that he didn’t understand that he worried about everyone else because his mom can really throw them.

Ethan asked Benny would his grandma help when the magic started flying, Benny told him no; that as soon as the music started playing, she would turn off her hearing aid, saying she hated anything without an accordion in it.

The last act was finishing, it was Marty who Mr. Stern said if he disappeared it would be great, then introducing Muse-a-tronics, Ms. Weir turning off her hearing aid as they began playing their song. Backstage, Erica and Sarah were getting ready and Serena walked by saying she heard about their “dance implosion” saying “whoops” after walking by. Erica hissed at her, Sarah told Erica to ignore her, that she’d be toast in a minute.

Rory was rapping – about cake – his mother enjoying it yelling to him to pop-and-lock, Serena was standing to the side, seeing the audience was applauding. Serena yelled at the boys that the people were hers. She then sang a note, hurting their ears, she told them to stop, that they needed to feel her pain, and so did they. Sarah saw that Erica was getting enraged by Serena’s music. Erica took a large stage speaker and threw it on their equipment to stop Serena. Sarah came on stage and told Ethan to deal with Serena, that she had Erica.

Serena kept singing, the audience kept fighting, including Erica who was fighting Sarah backstage. Ethan and Benny trying to set their equipment back up, as Marty came over to try and fight Benny, Benny showing Marty a real magic trick, using his magic to get Marty away from him. Ms. Weir was watching in awe at what was going on, Ethan using the machine against Serena. Serena telling Ethan that he can’t keep her quiet, Ethan asked her what she said.

Serena yelled and Ethan used the machine to shoot the scream back at her, Ms. Weir in the audience using her magic to close the stage’s curtains, Serena then dissipated in thin air and air waves, the boy shocked. Ethan said that it was intense, Benny saying they just recorded their first number one, the boys excited. Backstage, Erica had come back to her senses.

The audience was applauding and Mr. Stern called their act “interesting”, telling them to take a bow. The boys yelling “Muse-a-tronics”, Ms. Weir gave them two thumbs up.

The next day, Ethan said he thought that that was the last they’d hear of Serena, Benny added Mc Monster Bat. Moments later Rory came on the intercom saying “Yeah buddy, Whitechapel High, this ain’t no lie, Monster Bat Morning Meltdown, don’t even ask why”, then he droned with the volleyball announcement, saying they could pick their team vests up at lunch, but not to use them as bibs.

Rory then said he was kidding, they could use them as bibs. Benny was rubbing his temples. Erica saying to them they’d see them later. Ethan and Benny took off as well as Erica and Sarah, Erica saying for them to go for a bite. The episode jumps to black.

My Babysitter's a Vampire "Independence Daze" Recap & Review

I think the word "awesome" doesn’t even begin to describe "Independence Daze"!

Ethan, Benny, and Sarah wake up in their own universes and they have to battle their fears to get out, and Ms. Weir senses danger in the near future. Meanwhile Erica needs Rory’s signature for her to help set up parties for the vampire council, but Rory uses this to suit his needs with Ethan and Benny mysteriously gone I thought this was a really great episode and it makes up for "Hottie Ho-Tep" that aired last week, but technically "Independence Daze" is the 11th episode of the second season, Disney aired the episode as part of a "Phobia Themed Friday Night", but the Canadians will see all of season two in order on Teletoon.

I liked how Grandma Weir – who is finally given a first name, Evelyn – teaches them a lesson by putting the trio up against their fears, versus it being some ghoul seeking revenge (that might would have made this episode a two-parter as well). These three are good together, I especially like the scenes where Benny and Sarah are just back-and-forth with each other; but after seeing some behavior Sarah has been exhibiting, especially in "Hottie Ho-Tep", maybe she will now not take them (mostly Ethan) for granted. Also good to see Rory using Erica for once, she often treats Rory like a tool.

"Independence Daze" is an episode that kept me on the edge of my chair, and this episode leads to the two-part season finale ("The Date To End All Dates"), so for Disney fans, we’re going to be left in suspense and anxiety for the season finale for a little while longer. I just find it funny that while impending doom is coming, Benny is asking for cookies. For right now, this is my favorite episode of MBAV above "Welcome Back Dusker" and "Re-Vamped", but that’s just me.

Here is the recap:

Cast:
Matthew Knight – Ethan Morgan
Vanessa Morgan – Sarah (and Evil Sarah)
Atticus Mitchell – Benny Weir
Cameron Kennedy – Rory
Kate Todd – Erica
Also: Laura DeCarteret – Samantha Morgan
Joan Gregson – Evelyn Weir

Guest stars:
James Collins – Cyberdontist

Written by: Simon Racioppa & Richard Elliot
Directed by: Tibor Tackas

The episode begins at Whitechapel High and Ethan is walking through the halls with a pair of red gym shorts on his head, looking around, a figure dressed in black walking with something glowing in his hand. Sarah also is looking around in the halls, an evil version of her storming through. Benny is as well, carrying a mop; a “cyberdontist” behind him.

Erica walked in the cafeteria to find Rory, asking where they were. Rory said he didn’t know, and said they were missing “Taco Tuesday”, it wasn’t wise. Rory then ate a taco, then offering Erica one, saying he must be a gentleman, she told him not to talk with his mouth full.

The night before, Mrs. Morgan was giving Benny, Ethan, and Sarah milk and cookies, asking them if they were too old for that. Benny said maybe, but you can’t be too old for a cookie sandwich, biting into three cookies stacked together. Sarah said to him just when she thinks he’s found every way there is to be disgusting, he’s found another one.

Ethan had his cookies the same way and quickly put them down, awkwardly agreeing with Sarah, telling Benny to grow up. Benny’s grandmother Evelyn, then walked in. She said she came to make sure Benny wasn’t making a mess, magically knocking over Benny’s glass of milk, and then asking for some napkins, Mrs. Morgan went to go get them.

Ms. Weir asked them what they had to say for themselves, Benny said it was an easy explanation, Sarah didn’t believe in trolls and Ethan bet he couldn’t conjure one. Benny asked her what was he supposed to do. She said he didn’t conjure a troll; he conjured a “toll” that it cost her five bucks to get out of her living room. Ethan gloated that he won the bet.

Mrs. Morgan was about to come over with some napkins when Ms. Weir knocked over a plate of cookies, blaming it on Benny. Mrs. Morgan said she would go get the “dust thingy”. Benny said at least he conjured a toll booth, asking if Sarah or Ethan could do that. Sarah told him that she fights while he hides, adding that he hides every time a robot-dentist movie is on.

Benny explained to her that Cyberdonist came to this planet to fill their cavities with pain. Benny then said at least he wasn’t hiding for himself, a hint towards Sarah. Sarah asked what it meant, Ethan answering instead that it meant she was a vampire who was afraid to bite people. Sarah then gave him a look, Ethan defended that Benny said it, he didn’t. Sarah asked was he so perfect.

Ethan replied between Benny’s magic and Sarah’s “smash happy strategy”, they’d both fell without his bulletproof genius plans. Grandma Weir told them to stop, that they were a team. Mrs. Morgan then sprinted by to the hall closet. Ms. Weir continued saying that she sensed darkness, a force so powerful and evil that they had no chance against it alone. All three of them were texting and weren’t paying attention to her, Ms. Weir noticed it and stressed that they had to work together; Mrs. Morgan then came back with a portable vacuum asking did they hear the thunder.

The next morning Ethan was pouring himself a bowl of cereal, he was about to pour some milk when it came out sloppy. Ethan yelled out to his mom that the milk had gone bad. Ethan called for both of his parents and neither of his parents came down, he shrugged it, looking at the mess in his bowl and yelled, out for Jane, that he made her cereal, but noticed Jane didn’t come down either. Ethan grabbed his things and headed for school.

Benny was walking across a street, eating a plain donut; he looked around and magically changed his donut to a chocolate one with sprinkles, Benny then took a bite, happily.

Sarah was walking behind the school, noticing there were no students around. Benny was in a classroom, burping, he turned around saying that that one was on him. He looked and saw there weren’t any student around him. Benny deduced that either he was too early or too late. Ethan walked through the hallways, reading a book, noticing they were empty. Ethan thought that the school trip to the candy factory was next week.

Erica walked up to Rory, asking him what he was holding. Rory said it was Vampire Sasquatch, asking her could she believe the show was canceled after nine seasons. Erica said yes, and asked him had he seen Sarah. He told her yes, she then emphasized that day, he then said no. Erica said that she wanted to run for vampire council party planner, but she needed two other vamps to sign for her, then adding in their own blood, then sticking Rory in the hand with her pen, getting some of his blood.

His skin regenerated and he took the paper from her, reading it, asking what would she do for the “fangy community”. Erica took his stuffed animal and said she’d make sure his furry friend’s head stays on its body, Rory corrected that his head was already on his body. Erica titled it’s neck back and drew her fangs.

Rory thought for a minute but saw Erica was trying to trick him, taking his animal back, saying it was a vampire, that it would just regenerate. Erica then asked him what would it take, he told her to hang out with him, because for some reason Benny and Ethan weren’t around. Erica rolled her eyes as Rory started talking to his stuffed animal, agreeing with it, saying it was strange.

Benny, Sarah, and Ethan were walking in the halls alone, Sarah asked out loud did Benny do that, Ethan asked did Benny do a spell backwards again, and Benny asked himself if he did it, it felt like something he did. Benny said that he bet the disappearing spell went wrong, or everyone turned invisible, or he made everyone silent and tiny, and that he was their overseer. Benny smiled, happy about that.

Ethan looked around, said he was alone, and walked into an empty classroom. A dark and glowing figure behind him.

Sarah tried to call Ethan but was annoyed she couldn’t get him, she then heard a beep and asked if it were Benny. Sarah yelled out that she didn’t know what was going on, so she was out of there, running out of the school.

Ethan walked to the principal’s office and sat at the desk, picking up the phone, which had no dial tone, he then pecked on the computer, which wasn’t working. Ethan said there was no phone, no internet, and no people, and now he was trapped in some pocket dimension, that he needed a genius plan. He then looked at the microphone, and said maybe not right away.

Benny walked into the cafeteria and said his favorite class, saying fries, blissful. Sarah was walking from the back of the school when an evil version of her asked was she playing hooky; it’s not the Sarah she knows. Sarah said that she looked like her, evil Sarah agreed adding that she was stronger, faster, and cooler, that she was the her that Sarah was to chicken to be, Sarah then rushed off.

Meanwhile Ethan began singing about heck bots into the microphone, his voice echoing throughout the school, and Benny was greedily eating French fries. Benny then looked at some celery sticks and said that he had to have balance. Taking a celery stick, a French fry and dipping them in some ketchup before eating it. Ethan sat down and looked at Prinicpal Hicks’s coffee cup which read “#1 Prinicipal”, Ethan said he guessed they couldn’t fit the word “worst” in there, saying “Boom”.

Principal Hicks asked Erica and Rory did they have class, as Ethan picked up Hicks’s coffee cup, Principal Hicks hearing Ethan’s voice asking for help in his head. Rory quipped if someone was in Hicks’s head, they must be pretty small, Rory held up a hand for Erica to agree with his joke, she didn’t. Ethan questioned how did Hicks hear him, shortly before running out of his office.

Sarah stopped, thinking she finally got away from her evil self, saying that Mr. G was right, that she was her own worst enemy. Then Evil Sarah appeared, Sarah irritated asked her what did she want from her, her evil form told her for her to stop running from herself. Sarah said fine, she wasn’t running, and took to the skies.

Benny still eating fries said if he did this, he was awesome. Benny turned around when he thought he heard someone in the room with him, shocked to see Cyberdontist. He told Benny to brace himself, that by his calculations, it was time for a checkup. Benny got up and said he knew this would happen someday, and he was ready. He said an incantation and aimed it towards the Cyberdontist, and it went right past him, Cyberdontist told him that dentists were immune to magic and told Benny to open wide, coming after him. Benny ran off, Cyberdontist after him.

Ethan had a pair of headphones on from his locker, asking Benny could he hear him. Ethan then searched around and found Benny’s gym shorts, asking if Benny could hear him. Benny did and asked Ethan why was he shouting inside his brain, asking him what was going on. Ethan asked Benny to tell him, asking did he do this.

Ethan explained they were in their own universes. Ethan said to him for some reason he could talk to him through his gym shorts, Benny joked worse cell phone ever, Ethan asked him what was so special about them. Benny said it was nothing, he hated gym more than anything, when he puts the shorts on, he feels like a cotton-shame blend. Ethan figured out it must be an emotional connection, telling Benny he was running to try something.

Ethan ran back to the principal’s office and found a drawer full of things Principal Hicks confiscated. Ethan pulling out a microscope and calling it “Mr. Scopey”, asking if Benny remembered it. Benny said he remembered when Hicks confiscated it, because Ethan yelled “not Mr. Scopey!”

Ethan then pulled out Sarah’s “make up thing”, remembering Hicks took it last week and Sarah was upset about it. Ethan opened it, seeing a picture of Sarah in it, Ethan guessed that if you couldn’t see your reflection, it’s nice to remember what you looked like.

Sarah then asked Ethan why could she hear him, Benny told her it was because he was holding her “makeup thing”. Ethan asked her where she was, Sarah asking him the same, saying there was no one in town anywhere except for her evil twin who keeps hunting her. Benny told her at least her problem was hot, he was being followed by Cyberdontist, and that his drill was a lot scarier up close. Ethan asked were they both being attacked, he was completely alone. Benny said lucky him.

Ethan told them he had an idea and to meet him in the lounge as soon as they could. Ethan walked out to see a guy in a cloak, without a face. It fired a magic blast towards Ethan and he ducked. Ethan said to them that he was so caught up with them now. Ethan came around a corner and saw Benny and Sarah then appeared, Ethan saying he could see them, taking the gym shorts off of his head, he asked them could they see him. Sarah answered barely.

Ethan told Sarah to grab her compact and Benny to grab his shorts, Benny grabbed his pants, Ethan saying he meant the gym shorts. Ethan pulled them into the universe with him. Sarah said that them being trapped together wasn’t much of an upgrade. Ethan told them they needed to move that he was being followed by a guy with no face and a lot of fire balls.

All three of their fears then came into the lounge, Benny joking he liked it better when it was himself and “Mr. Silver Pants”. Benny said it was his worst nightmare, a fire juggler and a cooler version of Sarah. Ethan said at least they’d be destroyed together, Sarah snapped that that was the upside.

The cloaked figure then threw a fire ball at them, missing them.

Meanwhile in the regular universe, Erica was upset she had to hang with Rory AND his “dolly”. Rory then asked what Vampire Sasquatch asked, Rory saying he was right, that Erica was being a little snooty. Rory leaned into the animal again and said he didn’t think he’d sign the “council thingy”, Erica hissing at him. Rory then agreed with Vampire Sasquatch that Erica’s fangs were too big for her face, who would vote for that. Erica covered her mouth.

Ethan, Benny, and Sarah locked themselves into a classroom and waited for Cyberdontist to go by. Sarah asked were they just going to stand there and wait, Benny corrected that they weren’t waiting, they were hiding, a much better plan. Sarah said annoyed that she should just go out there, Benny asked her to get roughed up by herself. Sarah told him that he couldn’t even magic himself out of a dental appointment. Ethan said their arguing wasn’t helping, Benny suggested that he go out there and touch “Hoodie McFirepants” and get a vision, Sarah had an agreeing facial expression. Ethan said spoiler alert, he’d cook him.

Ethan said that they had to go after them together, asking Sarah how do they stop her. Sarah corrected that it wasn’t her, it was the her she didn’t want to be. Ethan asked her why not, Sarah said it was because she didn’t have a conscience and she eats people. Ethan said to start with that.

Evil Sarah was walking through the halls and heard Benny saying he ran track today and his blood was pumping like crazy. Evil Sarah saw them and went after them, Ethan and Benny apparently “tripping” in the halls. Ethan said their weak and human bodies couldn’t run any farther, Evil Sarah said she could use a lunch break, Benny said that lunch was so served. Evil Sarah was about to attack when she asked where her “lame-o look alike was”. Ethan and Benny continued taunting Evil Sarah with their blood.

Evil Sarah said she guessed she could dine and dash, she was then staked by Sarah. Ethan and Benny were smiling at her, Sarah said that that was one down, it was a shame though, Sarah said because she liked her boots. Benny whispered that for the record, Evil Sarah had a much hotter look, Sarah defended that she does pretty good for someone who can’t use a mirror. Benny smiled at her and said point taken.

Sarah asked that magic didn’t work on dentists, Benny told her that he wasn’t just a dentist, he was a computer. Ethan said that computers were all about logic, so that’s where they hit him. Benny said he’d rather hit him with a train, but logic was okay.

Sarah crumbled something in half asking the Cyberdontist was that animal cruetly to him. He was about to attack Sarah when Ethan asked him why do they park in a driveway and drive in a parkway, the Cyberdontist started seizing up, Ethan asked him that his mission was not to accept this mission, did he accept. Sarah said it was working, Ethan asked why do you put coffee inside a coffee maker, doesn’t it make coffee. Benny said to it that once he ate a whole half of pizza, emphasizing, a whole half.

Sarah looked at Benny as the Cyberdontist kept seizing and Sarah pushed a button on its chest. Ethan said it worked, he knew Cyberdontist couldn’t handle logic paradoxes. Sarah said that she just found it’s off switch, that it was there the whole time. Ethan said one to go as Benny said that he had an idea, wondering if they could play video games on him. Benny touched the Cyberdontist and it twitched, Benny saying never mind.

Benny asked Ethan who was in the bathrobe, Ethan said he didn’t remember him from any of his top ten nightmares. Sarah asked Ethan if he didn’t know what it was, how they stop him. Ethan remembered that he pulled them into his universe, Benny saying someone from the real world could pull them out. Ethan said maybe, they needed an emotionally charged object. Benny suggested Erica’s locker, Sarah said that half the stuff in Erica’s locker wasn’t hers.

Ethan said he knew where they needed to go, to Rory’s locker, Benny said it was a good thing he knew Rory’s combination, but Sarah just pulled the lock off. Sarah opened his locker and quipped that she thought there would be more toys. Ethan then saw Rory’s Vampire Sasquatch stuffed animal and picked it up, saying it must have been kind of lonely, before calling for Rory.

Rory asked what his Vampire Sasquatch said, saying that it sounded like Ethan. Erica reached for the animal saying they needed a timeout, she and Rory tugging it. Ethan yelled that it was him, they were trapped in an alternate dimension. After hearing that, Erica told Rory she had been hanging out with him for way too long.

Benny looked to see the cloaked figure getting ready to throw a fireball at them, they managed to get away, the fireball hit the lockers. Benny yelled into the Vampire Sasquatch that they were being chased by a walking flamethrower and they had to get them out of there. Erica said only if Sarah signed her council application.

Sarah yelled that wasn’t it due a month ago, and Erica snatched the doll from Rory, yelling that she hung out with Rory all day for nothing, other students laughing at Erica for seemingly yelling at the doll. Ethan yelled for them to meet in front of the school, the cloaked figure walking behind them.

Rory and Erica ran around a corner, Rory saying he dug the ghost look, Benny said that they were the ghosts, Ethan said they were all ghosts and to grab Vampire Sasquatch, Rory said he already had him. Sarah told him the ghost one. Erica and Rory grabbed the one Benny was holding and started pulling them. Ethan turned around to see the cloaked guy starting another fireball. Erica and Rory pulled them in just as he fired.

The other students in the hallway were looking as Benny yelled “Tah Dah!”, he and Erica bowing, Ethan and Sarah laughing awkwardly, a few people clapped.

Later that night, Benny was telling his grandma about Cyberdontist and that he didn’t cry once. Sarah added that they worked together, Ethan adding that they got out alive, and that grandma knew that already. Ms. Weir said that she was glad they learned their lessons, even if it took flinging them into three different dimensions.

They all asked her “what”, she told them they were never in any real danger. Benny told her to tell that to the crazy robots and Evil Sarah’s, he told her to dial it down. She told him to cowboy up, she told him they were their fears, that they needed a reason to work together. Ethan asked her who was the faceless guy in the hoodie throwing fireballs at him.

Ms. Weir told Ethan that he was supposed to be alone, that his fear was losing those closest to him. Ethan said it used to be, but now it was fireball throwing guy. Ms. Weir told Ethan no one was supposed to be there with him, it must have been the darkness she felt, trouble was coming. Ethan and Sarah looked concerned.

Benny then asked was there any cookies left, if he didn’t get any cookies, then there would be trouble. Ms. Weir, Sarah, and Ethan looked at Benny who was sipping in his cup, Benny not seeming too concerned, the episode jumps to black.
